Inclusive Stories Wins Business of the Year 2024: Empowering Autism Parenting with Diverse Children's Picture Books and Celebrating Neurodiversity in the UK

Just three weeks after being awarded the Business of the Year 2024 award on 7th February, Inclusive Stories is riding high on a wave of inspiration and achievement. This prestigious award celebrates our commitment to providing unique subscription boxes filled with diverse children’s books, Inclusive children's books, and sensory fidget toys—designed especially for families raising neurodivergent children.

At the annual Greenwich Business Awards, over 330 local entrepreneurs, business owners, investors, and stakeholders gathered at the InterContinental London – The O2 to celebrate local businesses’ success and hard work. The ceremony revealed winners across 14 categories, including the coveted Business of the Year award.

"The top accolade of Business of the Year 2024 went to Inclusive Stories Ltd, who provide unique subscription boxes filled with diverse children’s books and sensory fidget toys specifically designed for families raising autistic children." - Greenwich Business Awards

Our founder and creative director Brooklyn Banjoko was nominated for Entrepreneur Over 30, sponsored by Berkley Homes, and subsequently won this award in addition to the big win of Business of the Year, sponsored by BPTW. Receiving the awards at the ceremony, Brooklyn said,

"I'm just a mum of two autistic boys, looking for representation for my children because every child deserves to see themselves in the books they read, the resources they use, and the toys they play with. Autism awareness exists, but true acceptance is not where it should be. My goal is to tell stories where autistic children are seen, valued, and understood—stories that all children can connect with."

With World Book Day fast approaching, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of two heartwarming new titles on 28th February, both now available for pre-order. Bobo's Brave Bite: An Autistic Child's Story About Trying New Food is an inclusive, sensory-friendly picture book designed to support children with food aversions, ARFID, and sensory processing differences and My Body, My Safety: An Autistic Child's Guide to Boundaries, Consent, and Personal Space  a beautifully illustrated book that helps children understand body autonomy, respect for personal space, and what to do if they feel unsafe.

And there's more on the horizon. Keep your eyes peeled for a deeply personal memoir from Brooklyn—LOUDER THAN SILENCE: A Black Mum’s Journey Through Hearing Loss, Autism & Advocacy—coming soon. This stirring account promises an intimate glimpse into her life, challenges, and triumphs, offering hope for families navigating similar journeys.

At Inclusive Stories, every story matters. Our recent success, the launch of these inspiring new children's books, and our ongoing commitment to fostering neurodiversity in the UK underscore our forward-thinking approach. We believe that every child—whether navigating the challenges of autism spectrum disorder or on the pathway towards an autism diagnosis—deserves to be celebrated through inclusive, engaging, and diverse stories.

As we step confidently into the future and prepare to mark International Children's Book Day, we invite you to join us on this incredible journey. Explore our award-winning journey, pre-order our new book releases, and discover how Inclusive Stories is making a difference—one story at a time.
